About this event
Are you looking to navigate the complex world of disability support services effectively? Join Mandy and Jo from Family Advocacy in our FREE discussion series to work towards ensuring the best possible life journey for your family member with disability.
This is a facilitated conversation addressing questions from attendees and this August, we’re doing something different: We will be joined by NDIA’s Alex Rosenthal as guest speaker. We’ve selected the top 10 questions sent to us by previous attendees and look forward to hearing Alex’s insights.
You are welcome to join us even if you haven’t attended a previous session.
Guest Speaker:
Alex Rosenthal is Branch Manager, Engagement and Inclusion at the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
The Engagement and Inclusion team are responsible for community engagement; they work closely with national disability representative organisations, manage the NDIS inclusion strategies and provide secretariat support to the NDIA reference and advisory groups.
Alex has been with the NDIA for almost 10 years and has worked across a number of roles and teams, including in policy and communications.
Examples of topics we’ll be discussing:
- New plan funding periods
- How to fund Circles of Support
- Self managing your plan
- In/Out supports list
- And more!
Parent feedback:
“One of the best discussions I’ve been a part of. Clear communication and personal insight made it easy to follow. I feel more empowered to know how to move forward with our planning.”

"NDIS only is a small part of our journey in seeking a meaningful life for our family member with developmental disability. The choices and decisions we make when implementing NDIS supports have a flow on effect. By sharing your NDIS questions you will also help other families build knowledge and achieve confidence in meaningful lives ."

"It's easy to get bogged down in all the ways NDIS causes stress and confusion. What we aim to do in our monthly Discussion Series is to shed some light on your questions and get you thinking differently about obtaining a good life for your family member. "
